M&Ms is the simply astonishing debut single by Brooklyn-based musician Valerie Teicher, aka Tei Shi. The fact that a song as good as this is her first is just unbelievable, and it’s without doubt one of the loveliest debuts I’ve come across in recent memory.M&Ms is built around a simple beat, allowing Tei Shi’s beautifully layered vocals to put you under a spell. The track is hypnotic, and it’s addictive. You’ll love it.
M&Ms will appear on Tei Shi’s upcoming debut EP Saudade.http://silversoundz.com/2013/07/tei-shi-mms/
BASECAMP, a new group consisting of Nashville-based producers Aaron Miller, Aaron C. Harmon and Jordan Reyes, have unveiled their stunning debut track Emmanuel. The vocals which are reminiscent to that of Sampha, along with the minimal R&B tinged electronic beats, instantly caught my attention here.If you’re a fan of artists like The Weeknd, SBTRKT and Sampha then you’ll really dig this smooth cut. On September 2nd, Babyshambles will release Sequel To The Prequel, their third studio album and first since they released Shotter’s Nation back in 2007. Last week the band gave us the lead single from it, Nothing Comes to Nothing. Now the group have shared another track from it, and it’s a rather pretty number called Farmer’s Daughter. The song comes backed by a big chorus and Pete Doherty’s unmistakable vocals, which sound really good. Give a listen to it below.

Brisbane-based electronic artist Charles Murdoch has quickly become a favourite here at Silver Soundz with a string of quality tracks like Shaper and No Lungs. The Future Classic producer recently dropped Dekire, the lead single from his forthcoming Weathered Straight EP, and it’s another sublime release. Dekire features rising Australian R&B artist Oscar Key Sung, and his crooning, Tom Krell-esque, vocals breathe extra life into an already exhilarating tune.Dekire is simply gorgeous, which is no surprise since two of Australia’s most exciting new musicians are behind it.
Charles Murdoch’s Weathered Straight EP is out later this year via Future Classic.http://silversoundz.com/2013/07/charles-murdoch-dekire-feat-oscar-key-sung/
Sydney’s The Holidays are back with their excellent new single, Voices Drifting. The single is taken from their second LP, which the group are still in the process of recording. It’s the eagerly-anticipated follow-up to the trio’s Australian Music Prize winning debut, Post Paradise, and it was written and recorded around the world in studios and apartments in Berlin, London, Melbourne, Paris and Tokyo.Voices Drifting showcases a more confident sounding electronic venture from the band. The instrumentals sound much bigger than on previous singles, sort of like Passion Pit mixed with The Zolas. Lead singer Simon Jones’ vocals sound great as well, and become more anthemic as the track slowly builds.
Their new album is slated for a 2014 release. Listen to Voices Drifting below.http://silversoundz.com/2013/07/the-holidays-voices-drifting/

Yuck are back with a really great sounding new track called Rebirth, the groups first offering of new music since frontman Daniel Blumberg left to form his solo project Hebronix back in April.Max Bloom has now fully taken over vocal duties, which is great because I really dug his vocals on Operation from their last album. Fans of Yuck’s 90′s style approach won’t be let down here, as everything on this track sounds good and encouragingly fresh.I’m a big fan of Yuck, and it’s great to see them returning to the scene on such form. No word yet of a new album, but the group recently said on their Facebook page “news will be coming shortly.” Fingers crossed we get the new record sometime this year.

Forest Swords, the alias of elusive Liverpool-based experimental artist Matthew Barnes, dropped another new track from his forthcoming full-length debut, Engravings. The Weight Of Gold is another dark and menacing release, containing an intriguing blend of dark atmospherics with nicely textured ambient soundscapes. The murky, ghost-like vocals that lurk throughout create an eerie listen too. Check it out.
Engravings is out on August 26th via Tri Angle Records.http://silversoundz.com/2013/07/forest-swords-the-weight-of-gold/
