AlunaGeorge - Watching Over You

My internet is back and AlunaGeorge have shared a new track online! All is good in the world again! ‘Watching Over You’ is the brand new, sweeter than sweet, track from Aluna Francis and George Reid. Their last single, ‘Your Drums, Your Love’, will definitely be appearing on most peoples end of year Top 10 lists and the band are certainly on a hot streak. On ‘Watching Over You’ they go for a slightly more laid back feel in comparison to their other releases. Reid’s now trademark stylish production accompanies Aluna’s simply gorgeous vocals so perfectly, and they always seem to complimenting one another effortlessly.

Friends - I’m His Girl (AlunaGeorge Remix)

I'm His Girl (Remix)

Last year, New York band Friends released one of the year’s best tunes with “I’m His Girl”, and they have since released their debut LP, Manifest! This year, London duo AlunaGeorge dropped You Know You Like It, one of the years finest, and infectious EP’s. Having toured with each other, AlunaGeorge have said that it was only right they remix one the bands songs. They have now released their own take on I’m His Girl, and if not for that bass line and chorus it would be almost unrecognisable. Pretty decent remix!

Just A Touch

Following last year’s ridiculously good “You Know You Like It” comes another delicious R&B tipped track from one of my favourite new bands at the moment, Alunageorge. Their story is simple, two friends messing about with songs on their MacBook in London, release a few tracks online and end up creating some very rightful buzz.  An awful lot of their hype is surely down to the extremely polished video for “You Know You Like It”, check it out in the link above. Producer George Reid and vocalist Aluna Francis have used a method of releasing music that doesn’t always work so easily for musicians. Yet, with some experimental production fused with their incredible knack for extremely slick radio, friendly R&B, have made it look easy. They’re set for live slots alongside heavyweights such as Drake and Nicki Minaj at this year’s Wireless Festival. Their rapid rise is fully deserved, and with a new EP on the way, expect to hear an awful lot more.
